YOU WANT
We did hire her as our doula and she was amazing. Knowing what I was going through was very helpful. Labor was 13 hours long and she was there with me the entire time. James and I labored at home for 7 hours and then she met us at the hospital. Erin did massages on my back while my husband held my hand. She kept me focused and helped me relax. Everything that Erin taught us in class was very helpful and it was just as Erin told us it would be. We had a beautiful 6 lb 10 oz baby girl. She was delivered natural with out any drugs. And we did all of the things that Erin mentioned to us that she had done. For example, wrapping Shelia in her daddy's shirt at birth. Erin taught us more than expected from labor to after birth. She was an awesome teacher and excellent doula. You can really tell how passionate she is about birth and what she does. Knowing that she had done it before was very helpful. I have told all of my friends and family to use her. I encourage you to do the same if you want childbirth classes or a doula. Thanks Erin, we could not have done it with out you .

We went through all the Bradley Classes - and really enjoyed them too
- Unfortunately we had a not so Bradley birth. We fought the last month trying to get him to turn - He turned breech the last month of our pregnancy and would not turn back.
Here's the condensed version of our story...
5:56am on September 23rd, my water broke. I was completely calm - my husband on the other hand went into hyperactivity mode - going through and making sure all the last minute stuff was done. I wasn't ready to go - I wanted to make sure he had eaten - and I know that I should have eaten as well, but really at that point I couldn't eat anything - besides there were a couple things stashed in my bag for labor anyways. I had a few sips of water - but for some reason that was a trial. I didn't have any nausea, nor were there any contractions at that point. The baby was still fidgeting around so I wasn't stressed, I was thinking maybe he was finally turning, since I know some wait till the very last minute.
I took a shower and around 7:30am I started having contractions - nothing I couldn't handle, My Braxton Hicks contractions had been happening since my 26th week - so apparently I was prepared for the real ones. Walking around made them so much more tolerable too - and they were immediately 11 minutes apart. Walking seemed to have been my way to relax that morning, not a fast pace, just a leisurely stroll around our front yard. At 8:00am we called my doctor, and they told us to get to the hospital due to the last signs of the baby were of him being breech. We got to the hospital about 8:45, and they were waiting for me - which was kind of scary in a weird way - not a panicky way.
I got changed into the appropriate hospital garb - and they checked to see how dilated I was. The first nurse said she thought I was 4cms dilated but was unsure, because there was something in the way.
Someone else checked and said - no we were at 8 cms and there was either a hand or a foot all ready coming out, which meant no time for turning him. Disheartened we wouldn't birth the baby ourselves and panic-stricken by the thought of possible stress on my boy; I was immediately admitted for surgery. I tried to use what I learned in my Bradley classes to calm down, which did help when they administered the anesthesia for surgery.
At 10:06am, my beautiful baby boy was brought into this world officially, at 8lbs 14 oz and 21 inches long. That evening I had all ready moving on my own when they were changing my dressings after all the anesthesia from the surgery wore off. The next day I was up and moving around. I can definitely say that the squats helped out greatly with my recovery. When you have no control over your abs, your legs are your best friends. I think that had I not done the Bradley classes to prepare for a normal birth, I would have not made it through our unexpected birth process.

I took the Bradley method with Erin and I thought that the classes were great. Erin gave me private classes which meant a lot. She didn't make me feel uncomfortable at anytime because I was a single mother. Labor was quick and then he was born. I did not use any type of drug (although I wanted to during transition) I just did my relaxation that she had talk about in class. Erin came to the hospital after he was born and helped us with some breastfeeding techniques. Thanks You.
